The first day of the Koira2014 event has been cheerful at Messukeskus, Expo and Convention Centre Helsinki. During the day there have been for instance heelwork to music and freestyle and flyball competitions, displays in tricks and obedience and interesting presentations about dogs. The Koira2014 event will continue at Messukeskus, Expo and Convention Centre, Helsinki on Sunday.
On Saturday the Koira2014 event has offered the opportunity to see approximately 6.700 dogs representing more than 300 different breeds. The dogs have participated in the Helsinki Winner dog show arranged in connection with the event.
Different breeds have also been presented at the breed clubs’ stands and at the Finnish Kennel Club’s Hau Life! stand. Moreover, nail clipping and basic care of dogs have been demonstrated at the Hau Life! stand. At the stand you can ask for advice and tips on how to get a dog and how to live day-to-day life with dogs.
During Saturday the Finnish Kennel Club rewarded the best breed stand. The jury selected Suomen Harmaahirvikoirajärjestö ry (the association representing elkhounds) as the winner.
The section is versatile and displays well the purpose of the breeds the association represents, Kari Järvinen, President of the Koira2014 Committee and Kimmo Mustonen, Vice-President of the Committee explain.
One of the high points on Saturday was the ”Temptation Highway” starred by Soni, the golden retriever that has become enormously popular in social media. Again, Soni was unable to resist the tempting treats and had a bite from the neighbouring track of treats as well. Come and see Soni on Sunday, it will perform the ”Temptation Highway again at 1.45 p.m.!
Saturday will culminate in the selection of the best dog of the Helsinki Winner show. Marja Talvitie will select the Best In Show dog from the ten best group winners of the show.
The Koira2014 event continues on Sunday. A great deal of interesting canine program will be available also tomorrow. The event is also worth a visit for shopping purposes; more than 100 sellers of canine supplies are present at the event. The international Voittaja Winner 2014 dog show with more than 7.000 dogs from 300 different breeds will also take place on Sunday. Welcome!
