The Finnish Kennel Club's number of members reached the record milestone of 150,000 on 5 September 2013. This is the highest-ever number of members during the 124-year history of the Finnish Kennel Club. Our membership has been growing steadily in recent year.

The number of members relative to the Finnish population makes the Finnish Kennel Club one of the largest canine organisations of the world. The number of registered dogs in Finland, at some 500,000, is also the largest in the world relative to population. Each year, the Finnish Kennel Club registers about 50,000 dogs.

“It makes me happy to see the Finnish Kennel Club's membership develop so positively and that Finns from Hanko to Utsjoki have discovered our organisation and the diverse range of canine activities on offer,” says Markku Mähönen, CEO of the Finnish Kennel Club.

The Finnish Kennel Club has almost 2,000 member associations. Together, these associations and our personal members make up a body of dog enthusiasts that consists of almost half a million people.
