The Finnish Kennel Club, alongside many other countries, was against granting the hosting rights for the World Dog Show 2019 to China at the General Assembly of the FCI a couple of weeks ago. The Finnish Kennel Club voted for Germany instead.

In the same meeting the General Assembly voted for the hosting rights for the WDS2020. The Finnish Kennel Club did not vote for Spain. The Finnish Kennel Club voted again for Germany.

The Norwegian Kennel Club published a press release in which it urges the FCI to move the World Dog Show 2019 out of China because of ethical concerns. It also encourages exhibitors not to attend the event.

The Finnish Kennel Club's more detailed opinion on this issue will be decided by the Board. The Board will discuss the issue in its next meeting in August.
