By the close of the second registration phase, more than 17,000 dogs had already been entered into the FCI World Dog Show in Helsinki. Entries will be accepted up to 9 July.

The FCI World Dog Show provides breeders from all over the world with a unique opportunity to showcase their dogs. The show is a great place for networking with representatives of your own breed and to get to know many new breeds as well.

Event organisers expect dogs and spectators from 50 different countries to come to the show.

“Entries have continued to come in at the anticipated pace and we are very pleased with the current number of entries. This is guaranteed to be an unforgettable event and we are delighted that so many people want to be a part of it,” says Markku Mähönen, CEO of the Finnish Kennel Club.

Owners of Finland's domestic breed dogs have accepted the registration challenge made to them very well. At present, the largest number of entries, at almost 400 dogs, has been recorded for Finnish Lapphunds. Finnish breeds can be entered into the FCI World Dog Show free of charge.

An abundance of other programming as well

In addition to the conformation show, the FCI World Dog Show weekend consists of a wealth of displays, performances and other interesting programming. 

Among other things, the audience can look forward to agility, flyball and canine frisbee events. The activities of service and working dogs and assistance dogs will be exhibited. The breed associations of Finnish breeds will be showcased on each day of the event.

The breed market area allows visitors to check out the presentation points of numerous breed associations and the dogs they represent.
